The Centre for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ) is a civil society institution working on issues related to health and social justice. It is a registered Charitable Trust founded in 2006 with headquarters in New Delhi. CHSJ is a resource organisation on issues of Men, Masculinity and Gender, Health rights of Marginalized Communities and Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights.  CHSJ works closely with adolescents, youth as well as community leaders. Community of Practitioners on Accountability and Social Action in Health: COPASAH is a community where practitioners who share an interest and passion for the field of community monitoring for accountability in health interact regularly and engage in exchanging experiences and lessons; sharing resources, capacities and methods; in the production and dissemination of conceptual, methodological and practical outputs towards strengthening the field; and in networking and capacity building among member organizations.

Training on Gender Audit and Exposure Visit 
November 5-6, 2015, Sany Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh
Two day training was organized under the NMEW program for selected community leaders on 5-6 November 2015 at Primary School, Kolhad (Chauri Bazar), Bhadohi (UP). A total of 22 community leaders participated in the training from 10 villages. The training was facilitated by Mahendra Kumar (CHSJ), V.K Rai (CERT) and Jyoti (CERT). Learn More


Innovative Use of Technologies (ICTs) for Community Monitoring to Enhance Health Rights of the Community

CHSJ at the 3rd Global Health Systems Research Symposium, Cape Town, South Africa

The third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (GSHSR) was held in Cape Town (South Africa) from Sept 29 –Oct 4, 2014 (http://hsr2014.healthsystemsresearch.org/). CHSJ was represented in the symposium through presentation of the research work of CHSJ on health systems.  Totally three papers were selected for presentation - one for oral presentation and two for poster presentation.  The research expertise of CHSJ were shared  in different capacities by sharing experiences with other researchers and  practitioners.     Download

Second Round Training on CBM on Quality of Care and Informed Choice in Family Planning
The family planning program in India has long been riddled with concerns regarding quality of care and informed choice in family planning services, especially female sterilization. Even 10 years after the Supreme Court ordered the Government of India to stringently implement guidelines for performing sterilization operations, problems related to poor quality of care, poor execution of family planning training programmes and lack of proper counselling with regard to modern methods of contraception continue to plague the delivery of family planning services.  Learn More
