Continuing Concerns: An Assessment of Quality of Care and Consequences of Female Sterilization in Bundi District of Rajasthan - MANJARI, RajasthanUnder this study 749 women who had undergone sterilization in public health facilities in Nainwa block in 2009-10 were interviewed. Following 3 objectives guided the current study:

Needless Loss: Identifying solutions for making pregnancies safer through maternal death audits in Jharkhand - NEEDS, JharkhandThe objective of the study is to conduct a research based study on causes of maternal deaths in Devipur block of Deoghar district, Jharkhand, in order to draw community solutions to combat maternal deaths in this region. All death cases of last 12 month [March’10 – February’11] of women under reproductive age group, i.e., 15-45, have been identified first with the help of Sadar Hospital, PHC, ANMs & Sahiyas, 40 death cases were found, then conducted maternal death review with all 40 death cases and certified by the Medical Officer. Among 40 deaths, 11 deaths have been identified as maternal deaths.

Still Underserved: Exploring Provision and Utilisation of Health care Services from 24X7 PHCs in 3 Districts of West Bengal - CINI, West BengalThis study assessed the functioning of the round the clock PHCs covering 10 blocks from 3 districts of West Bengal using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Beyond Delivery: Assessing Postpartum Care and Complications in District Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh - SAHAYOG, Uttar PradeshThe study was an exploratory study, which sought to understand the postpartum care provided in home births and institutional deliveries in Rajgarh block of Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. The study used qualitative methods to gather the required information.

It focused on the assessment of ASHA activities at community level and to find out the barriers faced by ASHAs to fulfill their roles.

Adhering to IPHS Guidelines: A Study of the Health Facilities in Sheikhpura District of Bihar - BVHA, BiharThe proposed study was carried out in one of the districts of Bihar to know the present status of Public Health Facility centers as per the recommendations of IPHS and as per the timeline fixed by the National Rural Health Mission’s Framework of Implementation in the year 2005.

- To understand the reach of these provisions to the marginalized communities especially to Dalit communities.
- To review the implementation of the policies, schemes, and programs related to the SC/ST PLHA.
Study on Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) in Bankura district of West Bengal
The specific objectives of the study are:
- To understand the package of services to be provided under VHND
- To understand the role of various department in organising the events at the village level
- To assess community participation in utilization of service
- To study the role of Village health and sanitation committee in mobilizing the community
A Study of Status and Utilisation of Maternal Health Services among migrant families of Rajsamand district of Rajasthan
The specific objectives of the study are:
- To find out the status and pattern of male migration in Rajsamand
- To assess the support of family members during maternal health care
- To assess idealization of material health services of migrant families
Assessment of Village Health Plan and its Implementation
The specific objectives of the study of six villages in the districts of Vijayanagaram and East Godavari are:
- To assess the knowledge and awareness of SC/ST about VHSC, their role as members, how they are playing those roles and what problems they face in playing those roles.
- To study how the VHSC functions with reference to dalit issues
- To analyse the VHSC budget allocation and spending pattern on behalf of dalit population in the selected villages
- To conduct a needs assessment of dalit community in the village with respect to water, health and sanitation
Study of Functioning of ASHA in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan
The study had the following objectives:
- To assess the activities of ASHAs
- To identify the barriers if any in fulfilling the responsibilities as ASHA
- To study the perception of community and health providers about ASHA and functioning
