PUBLIC HEALTH, RIGHTS AND ACCOUNTABILITY
As a health policy resource center, CHSJ works actively with public health systems and with the community to improve both the health systems and health outcomes in India. CHSJ was the technical anchor for communitisation process under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) that included piloting of community monitoring of health services in 9 states of India during 2007-10. Democratising health and participatory governance in health care services, reproductive and maternal health services, access to food, nutrition, water and sanitation, addressing discrimination faced by socially excluded and disadvantaged communities, budget monitoring are some of the key areas that CHSJ has thematically built its expertise and have contributed to enhance community and policy interface.
