Excellent written and spoken communication skills and the ability to produce high quality knowledge products and reports in Hindi and English
Experiences of conducting or being part of any research exercises (conducting interviews, doing background literature/desk review etc.)
Perspective and skills on health with a rights based approach with focus on gender, poverty, religion, caste and sexuality.
Understanding of social exclusion and social justice including health rights violations of socially excluded groups along with rights based approach to development issues and policies
Strong interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills with the quality of working in a team
Skills of conducting trainings and capacity building to different stakeholders on public health, health rights and accountability
Skills for planning, monitoring of work and delivering tasks
Capacity to interact and liaison with civil society members and government officials
Flexibility to travel (essential)
Assisting the Programme Director and taking responsibility to complete tasks assigned in the area of training, research and advocacy within the thematic areas of Community Action, Health Rights, Monitoring & Accountability. Some of the areas of assistance include the following:
Programme report writing for internal and external purposes
Coordinate and organise meetings, seminars and trainings on the thematic area
Networking with various partners, networks, alliances and coalitions
Project management - Operational plans, monitoring and review
Proposal conceptualization, background research and writing
Contributing to building advocacy on public health and health rights issues of the community and vulnerable sections;
Coordinate with and contribute to research and training on public health and health rights issues
Candidates possessing a minimum of Masters’ degree or an advanced degree in a public health or community health, social sciences, social work and in similar disciplines with minimum of 3 years of work experience;
Functional knowledge of computers including MS Office is essential.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi is essential.
An aptitude and drive to work for the rights of the marginalised communities
At least one year of experience of working with communities of the marginalised is prefeable
