Current Secretariats

CHSJ currently holds the secretariat for the following:

Forum to Engage Men for Gender Equality (FEM)-  We feel that it is critical to intervene in the area of masculinities and go beyond the most obvious and visible signs and symbols of masculinities to discover knowledge as well as ideas on how boys and men can become part of movements that carry messages and actions towards gender equality.

National Coalition against Two Child Norm and Coercive Population Policies- The National Coalition Against Two-Child Norm and Coercive Population Policies has been formed as an outcome of concerns around population control and related coercion and for promoting policies that empower people to exercise their reproductive rights and choices. It is aimed at strengthening of civil society partnership to voice people’s concerns collectively. This Coalition is a non-registered and non-party group consisting of individuals and organizations who believe in human rights and particularly reproductive and civil rights of all individuals and are willing to take action to address and redress violation of these rights among vulnerable and affected individuals and groups.

Past Secretariats

CHSJ in the past held the secretariat for the following:

ICPD + 15 Gains & Gaps Review Process  - In November 2008, CHSJ along with Sahayog and Population Foundation of India organised a meeting to discuss what can be done in collectively to commemorate the 15th anniversary of International Conference on Population & Development (ICPD) at Cairo in 1994. There was an overwhelming consensus to conduct a civil society review process to take stock of the gains & gaps in terms of ICPD promises. CHSJ, honouring the strong requests by all the organisations agreed to host the secretariat for Gains & Gaps – ICPD+15: A Civil Society Review in India.

CommonHealth (CMNHSA) - CHSJ is a member institution of CommonHealth and also houses the Coalition Secretariat thus actively supporting implementation of its wide range of advocacy and capacity-building activities around maternal health and safe abortion.
