The World Health Organization has, for the first time in 40 years, issued interim guidance for the use of a new Tuberculosis drug — Bedaquiline. The drug was granted approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last year. As per a press statement issued by the WHO on Thursday, the interim guidance provides the advice on the inclusion of bedaquiline in the combination therapy of Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR) TB.
