The Himachal Pradesh government is giving a wide insurance cover to the entire population of BPL families under the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna. More than 80 per cent families have already been covered under it in the first quarter of this year. The scheme envisages providing financial assistance of Rs.30,000 for undertaking treatment at recognised health institutions in the State, including Ayurvedic health institutions. For this, they don't have to give any premium. For achieving this feat, the State has recently won the National Award for ‘Best Enrolment Rate State'. Read more
