The Uttarkhand government has given its approval to launch the ‘Chirayu School Health Scheme’ across the state schools next month. The programme to be run under the National Rural health mission, in the higher primary government schools, focuses on health check up of school children and provides them corrective treatment. Teams of doctors, paramedical staff and community mobilizers would be set up in each district, which would also include personnel from the Health Department. A coordinator would be appointed on contract basis at the divisional level to coordinate with the officials. Read more
