The Delhi Cabinet on Monday decided to liberalise the Delhi Government Employees Health Scheme for former MLAs, former Metropolitan Councillors, retired judges of High Court , IAS officers and DANICS officers. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who chaired the meeting, said the Delhi Government Employees Health Scheme (DGEHS) introduced in the year 1997 for providing medical facilities to Government Employees, pensioners and their families on the lines of Central Government Health Scheme was modified several times to bring sitting MLAs as well as Ex-MLAs of the State Assembly under the ambit of the scheme and extension of DGEHS facilities in NCR and outside Delhi to them.
