With sex selection emerging as the foremost reasons behind declining sex ratio, the government has decided to rope in ‘doctors of tomorrow' to arrest the trend. It has been decided to introduce the subject of Pre-conception and Pre- natal Diagnostic Techniques in the course curriculum of MBBS degree in the State from this year, said Health and Family Welfare Secretary Anu Garg.. Identifying doctors' community as important stakeholder in tackling sex selection menace, the Health and Family Welfare department has already oriented students of six medical colleges (three government and three private) about PC-PNDT.
