Noida: 5th May 2012
In what will come as a relief to nursing homes in Noida, the Supreme Court on Friday allowed clinics which operate out of residential plots to provide emergency medical services as well. On December 4, the Supreme Court had directed all commercial establishments including nursing homes to vacate the residential plots they were occupying in violation of clauses of land use. At the time, however, the apex court had allowed doctors who owned homes to run “clinics meant only for consultation”, if they did not exceed 25 per cent of the total area of the residential plot.
