The Comptroller and Auditor General’s latest report on the National Rural Health Mission has cited irregularities in implementation of the scheme in Madhya Pradesh and exposed massive infrastructural inadequacies. It exposes lack of basic infrastructure like telephones and electricity along with bad surroundings, lack of cleanliness, absence of separate utilities for men and women, lack of sewerage and medical waste disposal facilities in a large number of the State’s health sub-centres, public health centres and community health centres.
