Ban skirts in schools, says Rajasthan MLA

A Bharatiya Janata Party MLA in Rajasthan has demanded a ban on skirts as uniform in schools to keep girls away from “men’s lustful gazes”.  Alwar (Urban) legislator Banwari Lal Singhal has written a letter to the State Chief Secretary C. K. Mathew, demanding that skirts should be replaced by trousers or Salwar-kameez.

A mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by an employee of the Sadar hospital here in Bihar's East Champaran district, police said today. Acting on the complaint of locals, District Civil Surgeon Saroj Singh lodged an FIR against Ram Sakal Ram in the town police station, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar said.

City’s police stations to have more women cops

Every police station in Delhi will have at least two women sub-inspectors and seven women constables. Announcing this, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said the Delhi Police will soon launch a special drive for recruiting female constables and officers and appoint more women personnel in police stations to instill confidence among women.
