The government has decided to give accreditation to 12 private hospitals for providing free dialysis to patients who are eligible for financial assistance under the Karunya scheme, Finance Minister K.M. Mani has said. A meeting of the State council of the Karunya Benevolent Fund held here on Wednesday decided to provide financial assistance to 3,797 patients who had sought assistance for treatment of cancer, heart diseases, renal diseases, brain and liver-related diseases and haemophilia. With this, 18,692 patients would get the assistance under the Karunya Benevolent Fund. Read more
