Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, Cape Town
CHSJ was represented in the third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (GSHSR) was held in Cape Town (South Africa) from Sept 29 –Oct 4, 2014 through presentation of the research work of CHSJ on health systems. Totally three papers were selected for presentation - one for oral presentation and two for poster presentation. The research expertise of CHSJ were shared in different capacities by sharing experiences with other researchers and practitioners, participating in the deliberations and discussions and by anchoring COPASAH’s organized sessions and by anchoring market place table of COPASAH.

CHSJ director and COPASAH Steering Committee member Abhijit Das presented an oral paper titled ‘Community based monitoring improves informed choice and quality of care of family planning services,’ in the symposium under the theme of Measuring and improving the accountability of health-care systems on October 2, 2014. This session was aimed at presenting experiences of community monitoring of quality and access as a way to improve the responsiveness of health systems and their governance. CHSJ representing the Information – Communication of global COPASAH, anchored the activities and presence of COPASAH at the GSHSR. Some of the key activities included the following:
