COMMUNITY ACTION FOR HEALTH RIGHTS

Picture
Understanding Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (RSHR) is as crucial as understanding the violations which are faced by marginalized communities. CHSJ continued to work together with its network and alliances to advocate for reproductive health rights, and tried to create an environment of vigilance by documenting human rights violation in coercive population policies.  The experiment with CBM in Family Planning services for the first time helped to raise awareness about family planning entitlements among community women. It has been able to generate evidence about many gaps in the family planning program. Building onto the Bilaspur incident, partners from 10 states were mobilized for a National level public hearing to share testimonies of violations. In addition, consistent advocacy with the media resulted in comprehensive coverage of the problems with the family planning program, following the Bilaspur Case.
