CHSJ at the Sixth National Bioethics Conference (NBC), January 13-14, 2017 

Centre for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ) is participating in the Sixth National Bioethics Conference (NBC) as a collaborator. Edward Premdas Pinto, Director Research and Advocacy, CHSJ will be presenting a paper at the 6thNBC, titled: The Emergent Ethics Jurisprudence:  A Socio-political review of the jurisprudence of the prominent medico-legal cases and the application of ethical principles to critical life-saving care in India.The paper attempts to understand the moral and ethical principles that intersect the healthcare jurisprudence in litigations, where citizens have accessed courts for justice when encountered with deaths, indignity and violations in seeking critical care.

Healing and Dying with Dignity: Ethical Issues in Palliative Care, End-of-Life Care and Euthanasia
Five plenaries will be woven around the sub-themes – Palliative care, End-of-life care and Euthanasia - of the conference.
However, oral presentation of papers, poster presentation, workshops, and symposia will be open to topics from within the broader discipline of bioethics, including the conference sub-themes.
The Sixth NBC is co-organised by the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics (IJME), Forum for Medical Ethics Society (FMES) & Mahila Sarvangeen Utkarsh Mandal (MASUM).
