For this purpose, a set of five recent policy instruments were reviewed that include:
• National Population Policy ( 2000) ( and RCH II)
• National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001
• National Youth Policy, 2003
• National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005
• The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
To share the preliminary findings of the study and to take feedback from stake- holders and experts on the relevance of the process a sharing event was organized on 17th March 2008 at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
